Extending nearly a mile into Grays Harbor, Protection Island, or Damon Pt State Park, is a 544-acre natural area adjacent to the Washington State Game Preserve.

Visited by locals and tourists alike, this park is a popular place to fish and walk along the shores collecting agates. People relaxing and enjoying the beach on a Sunday.
